Why you should be drinking water.

Well, the reason you should be drinking water, rather then your favorite drink that isn’t water, is that water is better for you then any other drink.

Water has 0 Calories and in fact burns calories, Any liquid other then water that you drink will contain at least a few calories. Even if your in great shape, as a tricker you need to have as little weight on you as possible, because your going to have to throw whatever weight you have into the air. And, you need to get your calories from foods which contain other things you need a lot of, like protein.

Aside from that, the reason drinking fruit juice, for instance, will quench your thirst, is because it has water in it. So, what has more water in it then actual pure water? when your eating/drinking think of this, food+water=energy. If your body doesn’t have enough of either it won’t be able to produce the maximum amount of energy.

In addition to this there are few drinks other then water that don’t have HFCS in them. As i recently noticed, even frozen fruit juice is totally loaded with the stuff.

So the long and short of it is, when you need to drink something nothing is as effective as water is.

Food busters 2: Diet foods

I don’t have much time today, so this will be an experiment in keeping it to the point.

Diet foods/drinks generally try to eliminate fats of any kind, based on the common misconception that eating less fat will help you to lose weight. The problem with this, is that what actually determines weather you gain or lose weight in the end, is how many calories you intake, and how many you burn daily. Though much of the fat they cut out is indeed bad, the problem is how they make up for the loss in taste from that process. To combat the somewhat lacking taste guess what they do? add sweetener, which is guess what? HFCS. The end result is that “diet” foods are much less healthy then non-diet foods. The most notably unhealthy Diet products are by far, sodas.

So if it says diet on it, think twice, it may be even less healthy then its normal (and often more tasty) counter-parts.



Frozen fruit juice

You know, think kind you buy frozen in little cans, and make into a large and tasty pitcher of fruit juice. I always put a far bit of cramberry juice in my protein shakes, but i never really though about checking the label. Recently i did however, and found out what the main ingredient was, what do you think? actual fruit juice? hell no, HFCS, number of ingredient. What the heck is up with that? it has more fake sugar which is very bad for you then it has actual juice in it. But it gets better, what do you think the second ingredient is? fruit juice? haha your funny dude, nope its water, then you have to add more water to the frozen juice mix, but the water doesn’t really have much value in the juice. The third ingredient is, at long last, juice concentrate. So this means that you are basically drinking juice flavored sugar water, have you ever tasted sugar water? not very tasty.

So if you like putting some juice in your protein shakes or other things, or just like it a great deal on its own, check the labels, the strangest things have the strangest ingredients in them. Better yet, don’t drink fruit juice, drink water, as an aspiring tricker you will need about a gallon a day. (its hard to drink so much water in a day, ya know?)



Today we are going to talk about a nasty substance called HFCS

HFCS stands for high fructose corn syrup, HFCS is in a significant number of the foods you eat everyday, mainly things like soda, candy, etc. But you can also find it in things like bread, juice, and cereal. HFCS is a sugar replacer, as you can see from the name, it is made from corn, although it takes a great deal of processing to get to from corn, to fake sugary goodness to put into sodas.

But heres the real question, why shouldn’t you eat it? well, what exactly it does that’s bad for you and how exactly it does it seems to be a point of much debate according to its Wiki anyway. But the long and short of it is HFCS will make you FAT as well as potentially cause various un-fun health side effects such as diabetes.

What this means, is that if you have a little extra BF and your trying to lighten up a bit as well as gain muscle mass you should avoid HFCS whenever possible. If you are like me and need to lose a fair bit of weight still, don’t touch this crap with a ten foot pole, it will ruin your progress towards a more aerodynamic figure. On the other hand, if your one of those skinny kids who has been dangerously underweight your entire life, well you should still avoid HFCS, regardless of your current psychical condition its still bad for you, but one or two treats now and then probably isn’t going to bother you in all honesty.

Still, check your food labels, you would be surprised at just how many things have the stuff in it, even if a little bit isn’t that bad for you, your probably eating a lot more of it then you think.
